Pink Night of Wine. 15 women were awarded, spokespersons for the culture and cultivation of wine, an expression of identity

AGAIN SUCCESS IN TREBISACCE, ON THE UPPER JONIO COSENTINO, FOR THE FOURTH EDITION OF THE PINK NIGHT OF WINE CREATED BY THE PATRON FRANCO PINGITORE. 15 GREAT WOMEN AWARDED, EXPRESSIONS OF TALENT AND DETERMINED WITNESSES OF EXTRAORDINARY ABILITY”.

It saw on 5 and 6 July, on the seafront of Trebisacce, in front of the Miramare Palace Hotel (headquarters of the event), 15 women awarded including journalists, producers, sommeliers, oenologists and communication and marketing experts, coming from Sicily, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Campania Piedmont, Tuscany, Lombardy, Trentino Alto Adige, Puglia, Umbria, Abruzzo, Lazio, Calabria but also from beyond the Alps such as from France and with international commitments and implications and specifically also in the Italian-Brazilian context.

All to affirm, with their dedications – and the desire to learn from what is around them and, above all, from what is beautiful, attracts and fascinates – the role of crops and wine culture, an immense heritage of identity to which many specialties of the Territories are added, each of which represents a business card to get to know more or less well-known villages and places.

A choice and philosophy carried out with determination by the creator of the initiative, the patron Francesco Pingitore, regional delegate of the European Sommelier School, artistic director of the event, supported by the Department of Agriculture of the Calabria Region, by the patronage of the Municipality and by involvement of individuals and operators in the area to further promote how Women, at multiple levels, give connotations and dignity to wine production, operating with character, creativity and great professionalism.

Hence the commitment to support, increase and connect, every year and more and more, this production system and ideas made up of history, humanity, great experiences and the desire to relaunch unique typical products, supported in the two days by tastings, sensorial and real ‘encounters’ with the scents and flavors of tradition embellished by environments that bind them and make them for centuries as it has been presented in the guided tours.

Occasions that have helped to better understand what such contributions can inspire to raise awareness and development thanks, in particular, to the story and testimony of women who, by putting themselves on the line, through what they are, know how to do and have learned, reiterate, in the infinite value of one’s person – also in this sector as in others – the strength and great resourcefulness of the “Pink” presence everywhere. Imprints not to be lost sight of, which push us to move forward in the awareness that we never stop learning.
