On Friday 19 July the historic center of Tollo will host the event dedicated to local excellence, while the journalist Adua Villa will host a wine show dedicated to the wines of the denomination
The Tullum Docg Consortium will be the protagonist of the Tollo Wine Festival , a food and wine event dedicated to typical local wine products scheduled for Friday 19 July in the main streets of the historic center of Tollo (Chieti). The first edition of the event will represent an opportunity for wine enthusiasts to discover and learn more about the wines of the Tollese area and the Tullum Docg , among the smallest Italian designations of origin.
The event will officially open at 6.00 pm, with the conference scheduled in Piazza Caduti di Nassirya Evolution of wine markets and climate change , where Angelo Radica , Mayor of Tollo and President of the Città del Vino Association, Alessandro Nicodemi , President of the Consorzio Tutela Vini d’Abruzzo, Gianni Pasquale , President of Assoenologi Abruzzo-Molise, the agronomist Maurizio Odoardi and Ombretta Mercurio , Vice President of the Order of Agronomists.
Starting from 7.30 pm the tasting stands will open, where participants will be able to taste the different labels of the wineries operating within the Municipality of Tollo – Cantina Tollo , Feudo Antico , Vigneti Radica and Società Cooperativa Agricola Coltivatori Diretti Tollo – ei Tullum Docg wines in the area dedicated to the latter, while the food stands will offer delicious selected combinations. Furthermore, at 7.30 pm , the journalist Adua Villa will host a wine show dedicated exclusively to Tullum Docg , a journey to discover the typical expressions of the denomination, where Montepulciano, Passerina and Pecorino have found their ideal home.
“The idea of the Tollo Wine Festival was born from the desire to celebrate our wine heritage and promote the excellence of our territory – declares Pantaleone Verna , President of the Tullum Docg Consortium –. With this event we wish to make our denomination known, a magical place suspended between the Adriatic Sea and the Majella where unique wines have been produced for centuries, as demonstrated by the remains of the rustic villa and the dolia from the Roman era found in the locality of San Pietro”.
The evening will be further enriched by the performance of the group The Palmina’s , which will offer the best of the music of the 50s and 60s, and by Gianluca Galeazzo’s DJ set, creating an engaging and festive atmosphere that combines wine, food and music in a ‘unique experience.
The Tollo Wine Festival is organized in collaboration with the Municipality and the Pro Loco Tolle Me APS of Tollo, the Tullum Docg Consortium, Cantina Tollo, Feudo Antico, Vigneti Radica and the Cooperativa Agricola Cultivatori Diretti of Tollo. The cost of entry to the event is 15 euros and includes the carnet with three tastings and the kit with bag and glass.
