MASI AWARD 2024: winners of the 43rd edition announced

The names of the 5 personalities identified by the Award Juries as the best interpreters of the fil rouge “The virtuous circle of Beauty”, the theme chosen for this edition, have been revealed.

APPOINTMENT IN VALPOLICELLA Friday 25 October 2024 Signing of the Amarone Barrel at the Masi cellars Award Ceremony at Monteleone21.

  • The Civiltà Veneta Award is awarded to the Trieste entrepreneur Riccardo Illy , to the Vicenza sculptor Arcangelo Sassolino and to the environmental activist and writer Sara Segantin , originally from the province of Trento.
  • The International Civilization of Wine Award goes to Donatella Cinelli Colombini , a Tuscan producer and pioneer in promoting cultural winemaking movements.
  • The Grosso D’Oro Veneziano is awarded to Opera Don Calabria , a ‘multinational charity’ founded in Verona and now active in 5 continents.

The press release states the reasons for the awards and the statements of Isabella Bossi Fedrigotti, President of the Masi Foundation, and Sandro Boscaini , Vice President of the Foundation and President of Masi, whose photo is also attached.

The event will be held on Friday 25 October 2024 with the signing of the Amarone Cask at the Masi cellars and the Awards Ceremony at Monteleone21.

Recognition to personalities – Venetian by birth, by family or by adoption – who have distinguished themselves in the fields of literature,
of art, journalism, science, entertainment and economics, and who with their work have promoted and enhanced the
the ability of the Venetian people in the widest fields of human activity, making themselves bearers of the fundamental values of that land
shaped by the Serenissima Republic of Venice and its thousand-year-old civilization.
Riccardo Illy (entrepreneur from Trieste)
“ in recognition of his contribution to the excellence of the Illy product and to the global renown of the brand in the combination of Good and
Beautiful. His extraordinary commitment and his ethical and cultural entrepreneurial vision are manifested in the Polo del Gusto and in the
Illy Art Collection where beauty, sustainability and quality intertwine harmoniously”.
Arcangelo Sassolino (sculptor from Vicenza)
“in recognition of his research and the resulting work closely linked to the artistic Beauty expressed by matter and its
phenomena, from mechanics and technologies. His art, which looks to the future, transforms culture into a field of intense and
continue reflection”.
Sara Segantin (Trentino nature writer)
“for the commitment, the publications and the collaborations that place her and her work in a dimension of enchantment for Beauty and
Goodness of nature, with attention to sustainability and “justice
climate” necessary for its conservation. A refined sensitivity allows it to perceive not only Beauty but also
fragility of the world and its repercussions on humanity”.

MASI INTERNATIONAL WINE CIVILIZATION AWARD
It is dedicated to the great world of viticulture and rewards the most representative personalities who have contributed at a high level
international to exalt the ancient culture of the vine and wine.
Donatella Cinelli Colombini
“for her work as a producer, promoter and disseminator of the vine and wine through the valorization of the aesthetics of the
landscape and to be a leading figure in wine tourism through initiatives such as the Wine Tourism Movement and
Cantine Aperte. And again, for the passionate commitment in the Women of Wine Association and, consistently, for the organization
of an ‘all-female company’ in Casato Prime Donne in Montalcino”.

MASI INTERNATIONAL VENETIAN GROSSO D’ORO AWARD
It is reserved for personalities who have contributed to spreading a message of culture in the world, generating that understanding
between peoples that develops in solidarity, civil progress and peace.
