MTV: “Vigneti Aperti” returns from March to the end of October in the cellars of the Movimento Turismo del Vino

Authentic, sustainable, regenerating experiences in contact with nature in every part of Italy. Violante Gardini Cinelli Colombini: “40% of wine lovers look for relaxing activities and a good 30% prefer active experiences. To respond to these requests, MTV wineries are organizing walking itineraries that are all different and all exciting in the territories of the best Italian wines”

“Vigneti Aperti” From March to the end of October, in the cellars of the Movimento Turismo del Vino visitors will find “Wine trekking” and a free night for Agricamper Italia campers.

“Vigneti Aperti” is back with a new formula that combines visits to the cellars with outdoor itineraries. A proposal designed for nature lovers, outdoor activities, young people and families, but also for the curious who want to discover the territories where wine is produced. From March on the website of the Movimento Turismo del Vino (national and regional) the “Wine trekking – i paesaggi del vino” proposed by the MTV cellars will be published. Those arriving in the wine districts in a camper and wanting to sleep near the cellars will find the addresses on the Agricamper Italia portal.

Vigneti Apert i, the first event of the year of the Movimento Turismo del Vino. The days, increasingly longer and sunnier, increase the desire to spend more time outdoors: from this desire is born the trekking among the wine landscapes . The idea is to transform each vineyard into a “stop” of an itinerary that the wine tourist can follow, step by step, to fully know each territory, the native plants and its typical products by coming into contact with the winemakers and producers of the place.

A regenerating initiative dedicated not only to wine tourists, but also to families, trekking enthusiasts, road travellers and anyone who wants to slow down and reconnect with the rhythms of nature. For seven months, from March to October, Vigneti Aperti will lead to the discovery of the wine-growing landscapes of each region, to learn where and how wine comes from, through the story of local wine-making traditions and curiosities related to each vineyard, and then delve into all the secrets of production. The perfect combination of nature, well-being and the pleasure of tasting for an experience in the vineyard and in the cellar that promotes a healthy lifestyle and respect for the environment.

“Vigneti Aperti represents the essence of contemporary wine tourism – says Violante Gardini Cinelli Colombini, President of the Movimento Turismo del Vino – offering an experience in the cellar that adds value to the tasting and integrates interesting and fun activities immersed in the greenery. According to the ISMEA 2024 Report on wine tourism, 40% of wine lovers are looking for relaxing and regenerating activities among the vineyards while 30% of wine tourists prefer active experiences.

It is clear that the desire to live outdoors is growing rapidly and MTV wineries are ready to satisfy it by offering experiences dedicated to relaxation, well-being and careful and conscious consumption of wine, which has been carried out for years thanks to our collaboration with Wine in Moderation . An approach that has distinguished the Movement since its foundation and underlines how wine is an experience to be lived, remembered and told”.

Vigneti Aperti promotes sustainable and local tourism that is increasingly sought after by today’s wine tourists. In fact, again in relation to the ISMEA 2024 Report, sustainability emerges as one of the main drivers of choice: 66% of wine tourists declare that they choose companies that adopt renewable energy , while 68% also pay attention to the social sphere , participating in initiatives to support local communities. From this evidence, the memorandum of understanding between the Movimento Turismo del Vino and Agricamper Italia was born, a collaboration aimed at enhancing wineries and their territories, encouraging camper tourism, a sector that has gained significant momentum and new popularity following the Covid pandemic. According to a survey conducted by Enit, in 2023 open-air tourism, including the camper sector, generated a turnover of 6 billion euros, with 11 million arrivals and 70 million presences, marking a new record for the sector.

“We are launching this partnership with great enthusiasm with the aim of promoting wine tourism with a particular focus on campers – says Violante Gardini Cinelli Colombini, President of the Movimento Turismo del Vino – a public that loves to explore every territory in an authentic way, savoring every nuance. In reference to the data from the National Observatory of Wine Tourism of Nomisma Wine Monitor carried out on a representative sample of 265 wineries, a good 20% of our wineries have a rest area . With Agricamper we share the goal of providing a unique travel experience, encouraging the discovery of lesser-known production realities, wineries often outside the major tourist circuits, but still full of charm . An opportunity to give a concrete boost to local communities, supporting their economies and promoting more sustainable and conscious tourism.”

“We are extremely pleased to collaborate with Movimento Turismo del Vino in this initiative that celebrates the beauty and uniqueness of the Italian wine landscapes,” says Pauline Nava, founder of Agricamper Italia . “This partnership represents a wonderful opportunity for our campers, who come from different European countries, to explore and experience the culture of Italian wine up close, integrating their love for nature and sustainable travel. Through these experiences, we not only enhance the territory but also help promote respectful and conscious tourism, away from the crowds and focused on a more intimate and authentic experience of the territory, making it possible to discover our beauties all year round. This approach is in line with the values of sustainability that both of our organizations fervently support.”

The Agricamper app has filters that allow you to easily find the wineries that are members of the Movimento Turismo del Vino on the map. Users can view them, discover their services and directly book a free 24-hour stop, enjoying a suggestive experience near the vineyards.

Whether it is among the rolling hills of central Italy, the terraced vineyards on the Alpine slopes or the bush vines overlooking the sea, each territory is to be discovered by living a regenerating experience in the cellar, protecting the environment and, at the same time, safe in compliance with the new highway code.
