Piedmont, Tuscany, Veneto, Sicily, Campania. From May 9th to November 14th ONAV opens the doors of some of the most beautiful Italian wineries in one click.
Discovering Italy even when you can’t move, and meeting producers with fascinating stories first hand, is possible.
This is the promise of Casa ONAV in Viaggio , 5 webinars designed to bring together the protagonists of wine and enthusiasts, ONAV tasters and operators in the sector. Each evening, participants will be able to discover the companies that have made their territory a mission, told by the protagonists.
Each member will receive at home their own kit of 20 50 ml samples, 2 for each company that will participate and, by connecting online at 8 pm for each of the meetings (or deferred according to individual needs), the ” virtual journey ” will begin. An expert from the chosen region will provide knowledge of the territory and introduce the major protagonists: two companies that operate in different wine districts of some of the most famous wine regions.
For Piedmont , scheduled for May 9 , the evening will be hosted by Sandro Minella , ONAV Taster and tour guide, and, for the producers, Marchesi di Barolo , symbol of one of the most famous Italian wines in the world, and Luca Ferraris , company of Ruchè del Monferrato, an oenological pearl waiting to be discovered. On June 13 , for Tuscany , Filippo Magnani , wine writer and founder of Fufluns, will introduce the evening, where Casato Prime Donne , a company in Montalcino led by Donatella Cinelli Colombini , founder of the Movimento Turismo del Vino and past president of Donne del Vino, and Castello di Meleto , the most important organic company in Chianti Classico and a splendid resort in a 12th century castle in Gaiole in Chianti, will speak. On September 12th, the Veneto will be discussed thanks to the introduction of Sissi Baratella , winemaker and writer, with Loredan Gasparini , a winery located in the Montello area, in the province of Treviso, producer of the legendary Capo di Stato, and Massimago , a dynamic reality of Valpolicella, located in Mezzane di Sotto, a winery and wine resort, run by the Rossi Chauvenet family. On October 10th, Sicily will be represented by Veronica Laguarda , wine communicator and woman, who will present Donnafugata , a name that has contributed to making Sicily one of the most famous wine regions in Italy, and the Caravaglio company of Salina , in the archipelago of the Aeolian Islands, a small wine pearl in a fascinating territory. On the last evening, November 14 , the professional journalist Luciano Pignataro , one of the most authoritative signatures of Italian food and wine criticism, will introduce the “volcanic” region, represented by Terredora di Paolo , a company led by Daniela Mastroberardino , national president of Donne del Vino, and her family, and Astroni , in the Campi Flegrei, characterised by heroic viticulture on the slopes of the Astroni crater.
