The opportunity to personally meet 80 wineries , to reflect, to enrich yourself with the dialogues of Condimenti, created by chef Cristiano Tomei and to visit the splendid city of Lucca. Vini delle Coste will be all this and more: the event will give the opportunity to benefit in collaboration with Trenitalia of a 50% discount on the price of the entrance ticket to the event (15€ instead of 30€) for holders of a Trenitalia travel ticket.

Artisanal winemakers protagonists of the event

Vini delle Coste was born to valorize those who, every day, dedicate themselves to wine following it from the vineyard to the commercialization. At the Real Collegio of Lucca, visitors will be able to meet the winemakers of the Lucchesi Hills , Montecarlo and Garfagnana, of the Pisan Hills, of Candia and Lunigiana , expressions of the provinces of Lucca, Pisa and Massa . There will also be companies from the province of Livorno , Grosseto with a significant representation of the Tuscan Archipelago . And, ambassadors of the Coasts of Italy, the Terroir Marche with the biodynamic winemakers, Abruzzo and Liguria . In total, there will be over 300 wines to taste.

Every day, every winemaker faces the unknowns of time and nature because wine is a living product, unique every year, challenging every year. This is even more true for those who work in extreme territories, such as Maestà della Formica , which grows its own grapes in the Apuan Alps, in the municipality of Careggine, at 1050 meters above sea level, Terenzuola , Ivan Giuliani’s company, in the Colli di Luni area, between Liguria and Tuscany, and Irene Carfagna of Altura Vigneto , on the Giglio Island where viticulture has a landscape but also social value. The so-called heroic and frontier viticulture represents a concrete and authentic perspective for the future, as does social viticulture , which at Vini delle Coste will be represented by the Calafata social cooperative, in the heart of the Colline Lucchesi, which involves young and disadvantaged people to put abandoned land and forgotten vineyards back into production. The Pieve Santo Stefano Agricultural Company is also active in social work and, through the Progetto Scipione Association , aims to create a stable and sustainable life path for adults with autism who have completed their school career, through agricultural, sports and training activities.

< – says the creator Alessandra Guidi – represents a new event that brings to the Real Collegio the wines born along the coasts of all Italy. There are many companies that in their terroir enjoy the influence of the sea: the Tuscan coast will be central, but we will also have the Adriatic coast, the Marche, Emilia-Romagna and Liguria>>.

Food for thought

The idea of Condimenti , conversations about food open to visitors, comes from the union of “condi” and “menti”, or the idea of “seasoning the mind” thanks to a table where chefs, producers and enthusiasts will sit to talk about what is happening in the world of wine and food, but also how these influence society. < – Tomei explains. – At the Condimenti table we will not attend a show-cooking, but we will be together to talk about wine, food and, therefore, culture. Because through cooking we rediscover a shared and very deep cultural root that perhaps we have forgotten. It will, in fact, be an experience of real sharing and mutual growth: at our table will sit the people who come to visit us, together with my friends, chefs, ice cream makers, pastry chefs and many others>>.

Guests on Sunday will include Marco Stabile , chef of the “Ora d’Aria” restaurant in Florence; Enrico Dandolo , director of the Gualtiero Marchesi Foundation; Gian Francesco Cutelli and Cinzia Otri , award-winning ice cream makers; Giuseppe Carrus , professor of Social Psychology at the University of Roma Tre and tasting journalist for Gambero Rosso; Antonio Galatà , nutritionist; Massimo Giacon , cartoonist; the Cinquini Brothers , set designers and first-class float designers of the Viareggio Carnival.

On Monday, at the table with Cristiano Tomei, Cristian Torsiello , chef of the 1 Michelin Star Osteria Arbustico in Paestum; Chiara Gambacorti and Elisabetta Gemignani of the La Torre Restaurant in Montecarlo; Piero Pompili, director of the Il Cambio Restaurant in Bologna; Edoardo Tilli , chef of the Agriturismo Podere Belvedere in Pontassieve; Andrea Sacchetti of the Nuovo Mondo pastry shop in Prato.

Vini delle Coste will tell many unique stories in an informal and at the same time intimate context, as demonstrated by the choice of the poster, designed by Massimo Giacon , a cartoonist who has collaborated with famous magazines such as Linus, Elle, Glamour, an illustrator of campaigns for brands such as Absolut Vodka, Memphis, Swatch, a designer of design objects for Alessi, an author of the book “Amami” for Mondadori and much more.

A choice linked to Lucca Comics & Games , an international event dedicated to comics, with which there is a strong synergy . A synergy that also extends to the world of food and wine with the Foodmetti – Artisti delle tavola project, a “festival within the festival” dedicated to the excellence of the world of comics and food and wine, directed by chef Cristiano Tomei.

Entrance to the tasting room is free for industry professionals, with a ticket for wine lovers and special discounts for sommeliers and students.

Vini delle Coste is an Event Service production.
