On the occasion of Wine Paris, the leading trade fair in the sector, scheduled in Paris from 10 to 12 February, Bottega is introducing a historic innovation in the world of Prosecco, simultaneously presenting 4 different vintages of the well-known sparkling wine.
Bottega is the first Prosecco winery to take on a major challenge in the name of absolute quality, which is the result of study and research, as well as long experiments, to which the agronomists and oenologists of the Bibano di Godega (TV) company have dedicated themselves for over 3 years. In this Parisian exhibition context, 4 different vintages are launched: 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. The aim is to fully grasp and enhance the potential of a grape variety, Glera, which can express not only freshness and aroma, but also structure and complexity. These are wines of great substance with the characteristics of a true Reserve that, even before the law recognized this type for Prosecco, Bottega began to produce with 12-month fermentation in an autoclave. The result is complex aromas, persistence on the palate and flavor. These elective characteristics, together with longevity, therefore make these sparkling wines similar, if not superior to many established Champagnes. In detail, they are characterized by unique peculiarities that elevate their quality to 360°: Selection of individual vineyards in the most suitable plots among the UNESCO World Heritage Hills; Glera grapes grown in the name of sustainability and harvested only by hand when they are perfectly ripe; Pre-fermentation cryomaceration, to fully safeguard the organoleptic charge of the grapes; Aging in new “horizontal” autoclaves, the result of the most advanced technological research applied to quality oenology; Long fermentation times, to obtain wines with different organoleptic expressions depending on the individual vintages and the different crus. They are all Extra Brut sparkling wines, suitable for important pairings, not only as an aperitif, but also tasty first courses and white meats or even game. The idea, born a few years ago and pursued with foresight, aims to give Prosecco a new image and to constitute a stimulus to the training of new generations of entrepreneurs, capable of producing excellent crus that will be requested all over the world and served in the best restaurants, starred and traditional, but all high class. The top of the range of the “Prosecco Premium Vintage Collection Bottega” line will be the Gold Stardust, 2021 vintage, still in the maturation phase (€250 retail price per bottle). In the meantime, another release, 2021 vintage, has been ready for a week. It is Black Stardust (€119 retail price per bottle). Regarding the packaging, the external surface of the bottle is enriched with 3,000 black crystals, positioned by hand to give a stardust effect. It is an unprecedented total black finish further embellished by the glittery label and capsule. In a few days the first 4,000 bottles have already been sold.
